Popsicle reappears on Grönan’s Big Stage

They started the 90’s big indie pop wave in Sweden and their debut album “Lacquer” from 1992 brought home a Grammis in the category Rock of the Year. They split in 1999 and made a final farewell gig in 2005. But this year, May 18th, at 20.00, Popsicle makes an unexpected comeback on Gröna Lund’s Big Stage.

The four Norrlanders in Popsicle did their career in the 90’s. Their debut album “Lacquer” was released in 1992 and subsequently won a Grammis Award for Rock of the Year. They then continued to produce music and the plates “Abstinence”, “Popsicle” and “Stand Up And Testify” included the classic songs “Sunkissed”, “Hey Princess” and “Not Forever”. All albums were also placed on the Swedish album lists. The band played hard during the 1990s but chose to go separate ways in 1999. In 2005, they returned to the Circus in Stockholm for a farewell play and after that it was quiet from the band. Last autumn, the celebrated debut album “Lacquer” was released on vinyl, which ended the same day. Now, 25 years after their debut and 13 years after the resignation, Popsicle reunites at Gröna Lund’s Big Stage on May 18th at 20:00.
