Play boule tax-free

The healthcare contribution is an annual contribution that employers can give to their employees without tax. Among the activities that the Swedish Tax Agency approves for the healthcare allowance is everything from gym and massage to … a game of boule.

A new year means that many employees have a new healthcare contribution to retrieve from their employers. The list set up by the Swedish Tax Agency for approved activities in the healthcare contribution consists of mainly traditional sports and treatments, but also boule.

– It’s nice that the tax office picks up the boules in the healthcare, says Björn Ivarsson, former elite player and employee at Boulebar. Boule is both a cruel racing sport and an unbeatable way to hang out. Everyone gets and can join because neither age nor physical strength does matter. Well done the Tax Agency!

Boule plays seven days a week from afternoon until late evening at Boulebar in the cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Örebro. Among the guides that help to learn the game are several of the country’s premier and most noble boule players. All places also have an open court for free games where even the healthcare contribution does not make any use.
