On Saturday, Christmas lights are lit in Stockholm City

On Saturday, November 24, Christmas lights will illuminate with a million LED lights on over 40 streets, places and squares in Stockholm City. Stockholmers and visitors are warmly welcomed to Kungsträdgården at 15 pm to attend the ignition and experience the Christmas atmosphere.

The Christmas Lighting Project #Stockholmsjul is run by City in Samverkan in cooperation with Stockholm City and more than 25 property owners in Stockholm City. #Stockholmsjul is one of Europe’s largest cohesive initiatives on Christmas lighting.

– We are both happy and proud of #Stockholmsjul that lights up Stockholm City for the pleasure of both Stockholmers and our visitors. The investment also contributes to safety and it takes place in an energy efficient and climate-friendly manner, says Daniel Helldén, City Council of Stockholm City Council.

New for this year is that the visitors immediately after the Christmas lights start to have a chance to follow Guided Lightwalk. Here you can experience a selection of the city’s Christmas lights with elements from Stockholm’s history. Tickets are bookable on stockholmsjul.se. For those who have not booked a ticket or want to discover their own lightwalk, you can follow the Light Map, which presents all the streets, places and squares with Christmas lights in Stockholm City.

– #Stockholmsjul is a good example of how good it will be when we work together to brighten up Stockholm. It is also part of the work to develop Stockholm into a wonderful christmas destination, says Per Eriksson, CEO of City in Cooperation.
