New Year Speaker at Skansen 2016: Pernilla August

Now it is clear that Pernilla August reads Tennyson’s Ring Out, Wild Bells and takes us into 2017 when the stroke of midnight is celebrated and Skansen’s 125th anniversary terminated.

We welcome another amazing woman to Skansen Solliden stage on New Year’s Eve, says Skansen Chief John Brattmyhr. Pernille August has the weight and experience as an actor to interpret Tennyson in an empathetic and inspiring way.

As the tradition offers are the stroke of midnight celebrated at Skansen with a festive program on the Solliden stage and broadcast live on SVT. Hostess is Micke Leijnegård and director, actor and scriptwriter Pernilla August reads Lord Alfred Tennyson’s poem Ring Out, Wild Bells.

The participating artists are Blossom Tainton, Gladys del Pilar, Jessica Folcker, Boris René, Brolle, Strandels, Anne-Lie Rydé and Elisa Lindström who is accompanied by a band led by Johan Granström.
