New space for the memory wall is created

By on May 31, 2017

The memory wall that emerged in the street corner Drottninggatan/Mäster Samuelsgatan after the attack on Drottninggatan on April 7 is preserved and set up in Stockholm House of Culture & City Theatre. The Memorial Wall will be in the entrance hall from 2 June to 23 August. After that, the City Museum takes over the memory wall.

All text and all notes placed on the shield of the shattered window in the street corner Drottninggatan/Mäster Samuelsgatan will be preserved in connection with the move. When the memory wall is in the Stockholm House of Culture & City Theatre it will be complemented with another area for new memories and greetings.

We want to make it possible for the stockholmers and visitors to continue to say their greetings and memories throughout the summer, says finansborgarråd  Karin Wanngaard (S) and oppositionsborgarråd Anna König Jerlmyr (M).

The memory wall’s new location in the Stockholm House of Culture & City Theatre will be in the entrance hall on the street level. It opens to the public on Friday 2 June at 12.

On August 23, the City Museum takes over the memory wall, and their work on collecting documentation related to the event continues alongside with the Stockholm County Museum.
