Anna Sjons Nilsson “I think on the thread” 7 – 25 January 2017

It was six years ago last. Now given another opportunity to experience Anna Sjons Nilsson works at Konsthantverkarna, at Slussen in Stockholm.

I think of the thread

To attach the thread

is a key action in a textile work.

To attach the thread

is to do something properly

Not to attach the thread might create a feeler or whisker.

Anna Sjons Nilsson shows three-dimensional figures and assemblages in re-farmed materials like beads, fur pieces, spools of thread and mirrors. A large collection of buttons becomes a treasure chest filled with gold and silver. Figures with kind eyes become ambiguous with their bushy tails and unexpected attributes.

Anna recycles our common cultural capital; The Bible, fairy tales and sayings in order to tell. Humor and existential issues meet in the ambiguous works.

Thursday, January 12, 2017 organized an artist talk with Anna Nilsson, at 18.15.
