Näsby Castle opens tavern

Näsby Castle in Täby will be a hub and a central place for the whole area. Right now, the final stage of an extensive rebuilding of the castle is underway and in connection with that, the castle will have its own tavern – Lilla Slottskrogen.

– We call it the back pocket or neighborhood corner, but the important thing is that it is a place for all our guests and neighbors to hang on, eat and socialize. It is at Lilla Slottskrogen we want our guests to slip in on a Tuesday dinner with the family, gather their neighbors for a spontaneous Friday dinner or meet up the relatives for a family dinner on a Sunday, says Annette Wheeler, hotel director for Näsby Slott.

Näsby Castle has been the given center point since 1665. And it continues to be when a new era begins and Näsby Castle Park grows gently. New Näsby Castle opens up again in spring with newly renovated lounges, new kitchen, wine tasting room, new hotel rooms and a brand new tavern.

– It should be a neighborhood restaurant attached to a castle. We have put great emphasis on creating a warm and personal environment with selected material in leather, wood, brass and marble. It is an environment that also carries a lot of history but should be very relaxed. It should be simple and unforced, but pretty good, says Torbjörn Blomqvist, owner of Stockholm Meeting Selection who runs Näsby Castle.

Näsby Castle is part of Stockholm Meeting Selection, which runs 10 unique and profitable hotels, castles and meeting places in the Stockholm area. The Hantverket Restaurant, which became the Workplace of the Year 2017 and won the Gold Dragon 2018, is also part of the family.
