The Bois packaging won the PIDA Grand Finale design competition in Monaco

On September 30, the grand, international finale of the PIDA Awards design competition was held in a summer-warm Monaco. On the spot were the head masters Christan Koch, Natasha Bosnjak and Alicia Lundgren, who competed with her packaging Bois underwear.

The banana-shaped lingerie packaging had already been successful at home, when the team won the Swedish PIDA Awards last spring – and the cocky packaging also managed to charm an international jury.

Of course, we took the opportunity to ask some questions to the winners of the Packaging Developer / Designer training.

Congratulations on the victory! How does it feel?

– It feels so great fun that we won the grand final held here at the LUXE PACK fair in Monaco. We struggled hard with our contribution throughout the spring and the goal was of course to take home the whole victory. Bois has really come to love us and our hearts, and that we have the opportunity to showcase this internationally and its besides winning the competition with our contribution feels fantastic! A little sad that the journey is now ending.

Tell us a little about your contribution – what was the idea behind the design and design?

– Our contribution was lyocell underwear in a package designed as a banana, with design influences from nature. Lyocell grows on trees, so do bananas. It was one of the reasons why we designed the packaging in that way, but also because it is an unexpected way of packaging underwear. What we agreed on from the start was that we wanted to do something unexpected. Humor was an important ingredient throughout the project. With our contribution, we wanted to show that sustainability need not be at the expense of design.

Last but not least, how do you celebrate the winnings?

– First and foremost, we will melt all the impressions of the day. After that we will celebrate together with Billerudkorsnäs.
