Music | Titiyo releases a new album and goes on tour in Sweden

Current with her newly released album Titiyo is now announces her first tour in Sweden for seven years. The album “13 Gården” got full marks in Nöjesguiden, and 4 out of 5 in Dagens Nyheter, Aftonbladet, Expressen and Upsala Nya Tidning and 27 January is the premiere of her spring tour in Uppsala. Then, the soul queen comes to Sundsvall, Falun, Malmö, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Karlstad and Stockholm and promises to offer a “groovy Titiyo–cake of old and new” in the sense of “a really fat club, but in a sophisticated form.” Tickets for the Titiyos tour of Sweden is out now.
Titiyo is very eager to play and early next year she goes out on a tour in Sweden, her first in seven years.
– I have progressed a lot during this time. Now it doesn´t matter how big or small audience I have, I always feel stable on stage. It is a confidence that I have not private. I go into a completely different role, says Titiyo.
This Friday Titiyo released her first album in seven years, and it was received with open arms by the reviewers. Nöjesguiden gave “13 Gården” honors and writes that it is “arena worthy and at the same time touching intimately“, DN thinks “every song pulsates with a desire to finally tell” (rating 4 of 5) and both Aftonbladet and Expressen says that “the Queen is back “and hands out 4 out of 5 rating.
– When I realized I could sing in Swedish, it felt like it was opened a lots of possibilities. My lyrics in English has been quite mixed-up and psychedelic. In Swedish I am more direct and factual. There are lyrics that tell a story and it’s the first time I feel that the audience must hear the lyrics. I think it is an extra effect in the words and stories, says Titiyo.
At the Sweden tour early next year Titiyo will invite you on a trip back to the 80s and 90s, but in a modern Titiyo style with many of the new songs, some old stuff and certainly something from the “Så mycket bättre” also .
– It will be that comfortable mix of triphop, pop, soul and hiphop that I like, with good pressure and maximum feeling in the uptempo songs. It will sound something like on the plate, but fatter. One can say that we have put on a few slices of bacon. Expect the feeling of a really fat club, but in a sophisticated form, says Titiyo.
Titiyos tour in Sweden has premiere in Uppsala on 27 January.
