By on October 24, 2015

February 19 Southern Theater, Stockholm
February 20 Babel, Malmö

Two amazing songwriters and performers in brilliant cooperation: critics favorite Sun Kil Moon is currently in his best form and together with the front man of the British experimental band Jesu he release the album Sun Kil Moon / Jesu on 21 January. A little less than a month later the duo comes to Sweden for two unique performances in Stockholm and Malmö.

Behind the name Sun Kil Moon is the American singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek that – first with Red House Painters in the nineties and in the last fifteen years as Sun Kil Moon specializing in beautiful and touching music. Justin Broad Rick has as Jesu released experimental music that moved between shoegaze, post-rock, ambient and electronica and their Opiate Sun EP from 2009 released on Kozeleks label Caldo Verde Records. A few years of friendship eventually resulted in that Kozelek and Broadrick recorded Sun Kil Moon / Jesualbum and during recording they received visits by the likes of Will Oldham (better known as Bonnie ‘Prince‘ Billy) and musicians from Low and Rachel Goswell of Slowdive and Mojave 3.

Without a doubt a recipe that can only mean magic and the taster America’s Most Wanted Mark Kozelek and John Dillingerdoes not disappoint. The album is released on January 21, almost exactly a month later visits the Sun Kil Moon and Jesu Sweden February 19 at the Southern Theater in Stockholm and the next evening at Babel in Malmö. Judging from the shout of joy that occurred when the Sun Kil Moon was added as one of the final acts for this year’s Way Out West and the success that followed after the actual gig is Sun Kil Moon in his best form.
