Music on the Satellite with an important theme

By on May 4, 2017

This year’s musical at Arena Satellite in Sollentuna is anything but a beautiful story. It’s about how it’s growing up with a function variation. Musical actors are children, adolescents and adults with functional variations. Premiere is May 17th. Welcome!

The performance “The Little Prince – on the other side of the stars” is about a boy born with different conditions than normal norms. The story is loosely based on the children’s book “The Little Prince”. The ensemble includes children, young people and adults with functional variations, from Theater Satellite’s daily activities.

– Our version of “The Little Prince” is so far from a beautiful saga you can come. We tell you how it is, to grow up with a function variation and how society affects you and your relatives. We commute between today and we are backing In our history, at a time when they left their “imbecilla” children at the institution because they were not capable. We offer a lot of seriousness, but also humor and love, says Linda Mattsson Kledzik, project manager and director.

The music in the performance is partly self-written music and music by Lisa Nilsson, Eva Dahlgren, Linnea Henriksson, Lars Winnerbäck and others. It is the third consecutive year that the Theater Satellite sets up a musical. Previous productions are RENT (2015) and Moulin Rouge (2016).

– I am pleased to note that Theater Satelliten once again puts up a play, this time on the topic of how our residents with functional variations experience their situation. And where the participants have different functional variations. The Culture and leisure board has set the goal of increasing the number of activities for persons with functional variations. This play is in line with what the board wants to highlight, said Magnus Ramstrand, KD, chairman of the Culture and leisure board.

Premiere May 17th
The performance is played six times during the period 17-21 May.
