Music | King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard to Sweden in February

By on November 11, 2015

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard is one of the Australian psychedelic rock scene’s most interesting bands, and it is with great pleasure we welcome them to Sweden for two concerts in February. Friday, November 13th will be a celebration for everyone: as they released both their new album (Paper Maché Dream Balloon) and tickets to the concerts. Do you love bands like Tame Impala, Pond and Goat hang on the lock for one of 2016‘s best concert experiences.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard shed their skin after each album release. Each album made with a provocative nonchalance against the previous sound, which makes no album sounds like the former. Sprung from Melbourne is the comparison with Tame Impala not far away and the bands have much in common on paper. But there Tame Impala have chosen a more electronic direction, one can say that the King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard stayed in an acoustic world if you should try to describe a sound that are different enormously for each album. From the heavy Krautsound and a large amount of distortion pedals on the disk I’m In Your Mind Fuzz to the jazz and almost feathery Quarters!
New album Paper Mache Dream Balloon was originally supposed to be harder, but became at the last moment put down a different direction. The album uses only acoustic instruments. The result: a masterpiece of the same high class as the previous albums, but with a more picturesque feeling.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard is on stage Feb. 23 (Debaser Strand, Stockholm) and 24 February (Pustervik, Gothenburg). Tickets will be released (and album) on Friday, November 13th at 10:00 and we expect a musical journey of amazing dimensions.
