Amason has gone from being a spontaneous musical project to become one of Sweden’s most important bands. Let us introduce a warm light in the winter darkness in November goes Amason on Scandinavian tour – a stunning conclusion to a year that has been very Amasons.

Amason consists of the friends Amanda Bergman (Jaws), Gustav Ejstes (Dungen), Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow), Petter Winnberg (Little Majorette) and Nisse Törnqvist (Little Majorette), which in late 2012 after many years of friendship and their own musical project found each other in a shared musical space; Amason. They jumped unconditionally into a common craft each with their quite different, previous routes and music references as part of the mix and soon realized that the soup was more than enough power to drive Amason forward.

The first song that reached the public, Margins”, were soon followed by a self titled EP, released in August 2013 on the INGRID, containing the single “Went to War”. In January 2015 the longawaited debut album Sky City was released, which has become one of the year’s most acclaimed Swedish album. “No rock albums that were released in 2014, neither Swedish or foreign, were as good as this,” said Jan Gradvall / Di Weekend and DN filled in with fragile, hopeful and bright.”
Amason has gone from being a spontaneous musical project to become one of Sweden’s most important band and an unforgettable live act. During the summer, the Amason appeared in front of large audiences at festivals around the country, including both the Way Out West and now Popaganda.

During the autumn, the Amazon is on US tour along with the Icelandic Of Monsters and Men. In November, they return back for a tour on Swedish ground – where the festival scenes in the summer sun are converted into exclusive indoor concerts in the winter darkness. Judging by everything else amazing that happened anywhere this band put their feet, this tour seems to be nothing more than a magical ending to an already amazing year that has been very Amasons.
