Midsummer, farm animals and summer market at Skansen

Midsummer at Skansen is celebrated in the three days. On the Midsummer’s Eve, the maypole will be raised by Skansen’s folk dance team, who later leads the dance. During the day you can tie birch leaf wreath, go to the midsummer market, dance both old and modern and enjoy the summer’s finest festival. On midsummer day and sunday the dance and the market continues. During the midsummer weekend, the boutiques on Marknadsgatan are open and full of crafts and locally produced food for sale. The midsummer season was also the time when they brought the farm animals up to the shieling and summer grazing – buföring. Like that will we also do on Skansen at 20 and 21 June.
Here’s what the Midsummer program looks like in detail:
Buföring – Follow people and animals to the shieling.
The animals at Moragården go together with the house people in the so-called buföringen to The shieling on 20-21 June at 13:00 to 15:00
