Magnificent Chinese New Year celebration at restaurant TAKO

By on January 10, 2019

“Year of the Pig” – the Chinese New Year, which will be on February 5, 2019, will be celebrated traditionally at TAKO with food, drink and party. Restaurant TAKO with its Asian-inspired kitchen obviously does not want to miss celebrating something as festive as the Chinese New Year and then take the opportunity to freely interpret some Chinese favorites.

The Chinese New Year is one of the largest and most important celebrations celebrated in China. The New Year, also called “The Chinese Zodiac” holds 12 animals and runs in a circle. Every year it is a specific animal that gets in focus and 2019 is the pig’s year.

With this, the restaurant will offer a serving with three different variations on the Swedish farm pig and on the black-footed pig from the Iberian peninsula during the period 5-9 February.

“It is especially fun this week to let China take more space, a country that has not received our full attention before. Food, drinks and interiors will reflect the Chinese food culture and especially the Chinese New Year. It is also cool that it is the pig’s year when pig is a fantastic raw material that is very tasty and fun to work with.”, says Niklas Odin.

The variations are served as a fixed menu “4 small dishes” consists of 3 hot dishes in smaller formats that differ in design, taste and texture. Last but not least, the serving is rounded off with a dessert of deep-fried mini-banana, black chinese tea glass and a mandarin saucepan sauce. “4 small dishes” will be served evening time in the bar and dining room during the period 5-9 February.

During the week, TAKO will also feature elements of unique Chinese drinks as well as a lot of fun surprises such as music and New Year’s decorations. Up until the weekend, the atmosphere is further enhanced with festivities in both the bar and dining room.

“Almost 1.4 billion Chinese cannot be wrong, New Year is to be celebrated on February 5. Come and celebrate with us!”, Says Christian Olsson, co-owner of TAKO.
