Local | Years & Years ready for Popaganda August 26 to 27

By on June 6, 2016

In May, it became clear that the British Years & Years is the next act to join this year’s festival program. The disclosure was made in a cloth bag in the park at Nytorget in Södermalm, where a randomly selected person had to take part of the news and was having to share it.

We are incredibly proud to present electropoptrion Years & Years first official gig in Stockholm, where they will bid on what will probably be the festival’s best dance party, greets Popaganda.

In early 2015 the band got the BBC’s prestigious prize Sound of which has become one of the most interesting appointments in British music – namely the divided out to those artists that are expected to break through the coming year. With previous winners Adele, Ellie Goulding, Haim and Sam Smith, ended Years & Years in good company. And oh so right the jury had. The band has managed to go home both at discerning critics and the crowd, not least through their live performances, where they always manage to create an incredible stage presence. The band singer Olly Alexander has been described as a combination of two generations Justin Timberlake and Bieber.

This past year we have heard Years & Years everywhere and with a single album in the back, we can still promise a proper hit parade of songs Shine, Eyes Shut, Desire, Take Shelter and of course the monster hit King.
