On earth

20 November 2015-13 March 2016

An observer of both the visible and the invisible. A unique and magical imagery. From 20 November to 13 March 2016 are On Earth to view when Fotografiska are exhibiting photographer Thomas Wågström. That the author Karl Ove Knausgård typed the exhibition text and the preface to the book says a lot about Thomas Wågströms ability to attract other artists with eye for detail.

With the exhibition On Earth takes Fotografiska an overall view of Thomas Wågströms poetic and distinctive imagery. Through its consistent and magical imagery has Wågström for a long time built up an honorable reputation in photographic circles. He is an observer of both the visible and the invisible and thereby create the unexpected.

Wågström says he always wanted to explore the introverted, the power that goes inward. He sees his pictures as a story with an existential undertone of the universality of the human condition.

The exhibition consists of three series that in a mind expanding way reflect one another. Necks, cloud and views placed side by side in different formats, but still breathes the same language. Suddenly runs a crease in the old man’s neck, together with a cloud streaks, which in turn plays on the same string as the footsteps of two women meeting in the snow.

Everything is connected.

The result is a meditative general human reflection of everyone’s time on earth.
