Restaurant Group Swedish Brasseries has acquired Ulriksdals Wärdshus from the previous owner Gunnar Ström. From September 1, 2016 transferred the operation of the venerable inn to Swedish Brasseries.

Ulriksdals Wärdshus opened in the current building 1868 since Confidence was no longer considered appropriate for business. In this cultural environment, at beautiful Edsviken and Ulriksdal, guests have since then been welcomed for almost 150 years.

Swedish Brasseries has both historic and new brands within the group. Everything from Riche and Sturehof which started in 1893 and 1897 to Luzette which opened in 2015. The group also includes Teatergrillen, Stockholm Matmarknad, Bakery Brillo, BrilloBox and Taverna Brillo.

Ulriksdals Wärdshus is a nice and well-run restaurant in a fantastic environment. It is with pride we take over responsibility for the business and, just as we have done with Sturehof and Riche, gently continue to refine the business tradition. With a 148-year history becomes Ulriksdals Wärdshus our oldest restaurant, says Niklas Nordin, CEO of Swedish Brasseries.

With the acquisition of Ulriksdals Wärdshus Swedish Brasseries complements its offering with conferencing, weddings, christmas buffet and have more opportunities to accommodate large parties and organize catering.

The previous owner Gunnar Ström has driven Ulriksdals Wärdshus since May 2000.

After 16 years, I feel ready to release Ulriksdals Wärdshus that will always be dear to me. I am very happy to hand over to the Swedish Brasseries, the inn continues to be in good hands with the new owners of a restaurant group that invests in quality, says Gunnar Ström.

In purchase of Ulriksdals Wärdshus also includes 1.5 hectares of leasehold land in front of the inn down towards Edsviken.
