Local | Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats to Stockholm

By on September 29, 2015

A mixture between folk, americana, rock, blues and vintage soul. Music clad in equal parts overalls and the finest go-away-suit. Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats is all this topped with a voice strong as the heaviest of shipwhistles. Nathaniel & Co. comes to Kägelbanan in Stockholm on first of March. Ticket release on Friday, 2nd of October at 10:00.

2010 The Denverbased multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter released In Memory of Loss and the celebration choirs that followed dropped the parables both with Bon Iver as Mumford & Sons. In the past five years, Nathaniel Rateliff played with bands and has taken the music into new territory where the parallels rather can be done with Otis Redding and Sam & Dave. The scaled-down casual appearance have been replaced with full retrieve. This without losing an ounce of soul.

Rateliff in his new set still delivers lyrics that carry the seriousness he has been known for despite a more uplifting sound. Or as he puts it: “I’m trying to do something that’s emotionally charged and heartfelt and I want the experience to be joyous, for people to feel excited and dance around instead of being superbummed by reality.”

This is really music you not only listen to but actually experiencing. It has a soul that makes our thoughts, without a break along the way, run away to a young Van Morrison.

Ticket release on Friday, October 2, at 10:00 am through luger.se.
