Mette Edvardsen is back on the MDT with her new work We to be, who was recently awarded the Norwegian Ibsen Prize. The show plays on MDT April 6 to 7, and is live broadcast also in connection with this.

We to be is a show that is written as a play and is read by a performer who sits with the audience, in front of an empty stage. The show also broadcast live on radio. Thus, work piece through three media presented simultaneously in three places: a performance in a theater, a play in a book, and a live radio broadcast.

Edvardsen has previously demonstrated several of her works at MDT. Last “Time Has falls asleep in the afternoon sunshine” which was shown at Moderna Museet during the symposium “Translate, Intertwine, Transgress!” In 2015, and whose first books have now been released in written form. Before that “Black” (2011 & 2014) and “No Title” (2014). The latter two look Edvardsen as two first works in a trilogy of independent works, where “We to be” is the final part. In “Black” presents her nonexistent objects in the room by naming them. In “No title” addresses her existence by negation. In “We to be” the only voice left facing an empty theater stage; performerns presence on the scene only exists through the narration of a place in the audience.

Welcome to “We to be” April 6 at 20:00 MDT. The show also plays April 7.
