Local | Matologi – knowledge of health and sustainability – back in the Norra Latin Garden August 20!

After the 2015 success comes food festival Matologi back to Norra Latin Garden in Stockholm on 20 August. For the second year in a row collected food health and environmental interested urbanites, cooks, foodies, scientists and producers for a food festival organized by SLU, Swedens Agricultural Sciences. Meet including restaurateurs Sally Voltaire and Karl Ljung and chef Frida Ronge, in conversation with researchers from SLU, where this year’s main theme is “Myths about food.”
Never before has interest in food, health, materials and durability have been greater. Last year, SLU took the initiative to Matologi in Stockholm, which was a great success with thousands of visitors. 2016 Matologi grew to include two cities. This year’s theme at Norra Latin in Stockholm is “Myths about food.”
“At present, the interest in the health, food, environment and sustainability enormously. It is easy to create myths around the subject and therefore we from SLU want to make our research more accessible and to share our knowledge in an interesting way. All foodies should know that they can contact us to get the scientific knowledge in this area, “says Sara Brännström, collaboration coordinator at SLU.
In the event August 20, we learn more about recycling culture, good carbs and sugar traps in the food, people’s relationship to food and grazing animals’ interaction with the landscape. We also get answers to questions like: How do you cook safe food? What is the 3-second rule? What determines the taste of dairy products, can you taste yourself to organic milk?
SLU also comes – in conjunction with this year’s partners Lantmännen and LRF Mälardalen – offering a fantastic producer market, serving of festival-inspired food and drink as well as many other interesting features. The podcast “Matsamtalet”, with food profiles Sigrid Barany and Johan Hedberg in the lead, will also have live recording on location.
Talk cultivation with food producers and take part in discussions about the hidden sources of sugar good carbs, ecology and local production. Visit the food market with sales and tasting of locally produced vegetables, bread, meat and other products.
Saturday, August 20, 2016, at. 11-17.
Garden Norra Latin, Drottninggatan 71 B, Stockholm.
The event is open to all and admission is free!
