Local | Konsthantverkarna presented in the National Museum Container 2 September to 6 November 2016

By on August 23, 2016

During Konsthantverkarna POP_IN we visited our members around the country to give their friends and closest circle an idea of our joint capacity. As we land in the National Museum Container we invite of course all Stockholm-based practitioners. They have been involved with sketches, samples and background material that gives a sense of the voluminous work that make each piece, bowl or sculpture. A few photos of the finished objects to represent the thousands of items that pass our premises at Slussen every year. All done with care and consideration as well as having a deep craftsmanship.

With 65 years of history is Konsthantverkarna more vital than ever thanks to our, in the current situation, 93 members. These represent an impressive breadth in both the design and the materials generations. On Konsthantverkarna you can clearly see how the material limits exploded, how the conceptual thinking takes an increasingly larger place, how the unique handicraft developed hand in hand with the articles of consumption and together attract a new audience. To keep our vision alive and see it changing as a challenge provides a vitalizing force.
