A Christian Palestinians seeking his away adopted daughter in the West Bank after ten years in Israeli prison.

In the snipers shadow of Najwa Najjar is just as much an emotional portrayal of the relationship between father and daughter, as well portrayed micro-society portraits and political drama. The film is about a christian palestinian who after ten years in Israeli prison looking for his away adopted daughter and occupation consequences that make the individual, young and adult, both for victims and perpetrators. The film portrays with humor and warmth many palestinians everyday in the West Bank with the lack of water, supplies, electricity and limited freedom of movement.

In the snipers shadow is an internationally acclaimed feature films and Palestine Oscars 2015. Starring young Malak from Balata Refugee Camp in the West Bank that has been hailed for his performance and award-winning actor and UNICEF Ambassador Khaled Abol Naga from Egypt – one of the Arab world’s biggest stars.

Director Najwa Najjar is already known for a Swedish audience for her critically acclaimed debut film Pomegranates and Myrrh. In the snipers shadow is her second feature film. Inspiration for the film is taken from an event during the second Intifada that confused both Palestinians and Israelis. In the snipers shadow is the third Palestinian feature film in Swedish cinemas since 2001.

The film appears only two times in Stockholm: Wednesday, October 7th & Monday, October 12th. At 18:30.
