A Dingding World
The exhibition A Dingding World show August Sörenson appliances designed and produced in his studio in Gustavsberg between 2006-2016. Some of the works have been made in large quantities, others have only been made a few of.

August Sörenson works in a ceramic tradition of figurative and imitative designs and fascinated by ceramics ability to be both utility goods, story and material at the same time. The exhibition’s title alludes to the absurdity of these meetings and the human ability to interpret and understand with the help of humor. Surrealism, merchandise and Buttericks humor are other sources of inspiration. The material is porcelain and stoneware, most molded but also rolled and stoneware with various kinds of slips and glazes. What unites the objects is that they all belong to a Mad Mad World.

August Sörenson educated at Konstfack Ceramics and Glass and share their work in the studio of Gustavsberg‘s old porcelain factory with a teaching position at Nyckelviksskolans pottery line. He broke through at Galleri Inger Molin with the exhibition Greetings from the collective subconscious in 2008 and has since had numerous exhibitions and commissions. August Sörenson is represented at Nationalmuseum, Röhsska Museum, National Public Art Council, Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum and Vasteras Art Museum.
