Local | 5 Seconds of Summer visits Idol on November 13

On Friday, November 13th comes the Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer to Swedish Idol, where they will perform their new single “Hey Everybody“. It is the popular band’s first live television appearance in Sweden. June 1, 2016 they will be back for a concert in Globen.

Last year’s biggest breakthrough band 5 Seconds of Summer released on October 23 their new album Sounds Good Feels Good” which went directly to # 1 on the album charts in both the US and UK, and # 3 on the Swedish album chart.

The quartet’s self-titled debut album has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. Now the band is current with the single “Hey Everybody“. Earlier this year they released “She’s Kinda Hotwhich is written by Ashton and Michael from the band together with Benji & Joel Madden and producer John Feldmann.

On the album Sounds Good Feels Good”, they collaborated with the brothers Joel and Benji Madden from Good Charlotte, David Hodges of Evanescence, Chad Krueger, Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low. The album is also produced by John Feldmann (All Time Low, Good Charlotte).

5 Seconds of Summer was started by Michael Callum, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin in Sydney in 2011 and the band quickly gained a fan base through the videos they posted on YouTube. The big break came when they got the opportunity to open for One Direction and with the 2014 debut album 5 Seconds of Summer” became world stars.

The album “5 Seconds of Summer” went straight into the US Billboard chart and was last year’s best-selling debut album in the United States. In Sweden, the band has achieved great success by including a second place in the album charts, and gold sales equivalent to over 20,000 albums sold. The single “She Looks So Perfect” has passed 250 million plays on Spotify and YouTube and received the Platinum Award in Sweden.
5 Seconds of Summer has already managed to win several prices, among other things MTV Europe Music Awards, Billboard Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and American Music Awards. The band has more than 55 million followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Their videos has generated over 650 million times on YouTube!
On Friday, November 13 comes 5 Seconds of Summer to Swedish Idol, where they will perform their new single “Hey Everybody“. At June 1 they will be back to Stockholm for a concert at Globen. Tickets are out now.
