Lo Kauppi inaugurates Stockholm’s feminist film festival 2019

February 28 starts the fourth edition of Stockholm’s feminist film festival. Today we can reveal that this year’s opening speaker are the playwright, director and actor Lo Kauppi.

Kauppi is up-to-date with the dramatization and direction of Märta Tikkanen’s culinary novel Men cannot be raped which have first performance at Stockholm City Theater on February 2. Kauppi is also one of the spokespersons for the actors’ Metoo call #Tystnadtagning. On February 28, she comes to Stockholm’s feminist film festival to hold a fire speech on the importance of increased gender equality in film.

Stockholm’s feminist film festival is inaugurated on February 28 at. 18.00 at the cinema Skandia. The festival runs until March 3 and shows films by female filmmakers from all over the world. Inaugural film is the Lebanese Oscar contribution Kapernaum in direction by Nadine Labaki. In addition, this year’s winner of the Anna Prize scholarship is revealed.
