Lloyd Cole [UK] The Retrospective playing the Lloyd Cole songbook 1983 – 1996

By on January 21, 2017

Lloyd Cole was one of the most exciting artists to emerge from the post-punk first incarnation.

He  made thedebuted together with the cult band The Commotions and the album ‘Rattlesnakes’, which today is seen as one of the era’s foremost hand.

Recently, Cole started to look back, and last year was given the retrospective collection ‘Lloyd Cole and the Commotions Collected Recordings 1983-1989’ was given out with a promise that another would land shortly.

It is with a look back he now takes on their live shows, which will only focus on older material. It is with great pleasure that we have the honor to welcome the living legend to Sweden for a solo gigs at Södra Teatern in Stockholm.

Ironically, Cole began his solo career with the song ‘Do not Look Back’, which is exactly what he chooses to do, look back on his successful career.

After years of personal creativity chooses Cole now to summarize what he has achieved so far, which is a lot. This will also be the focus of the upcoming tour setlist which alone will consist of material released between 1983 – 1996, which is also the time span for the two anthologies published.

Customarily the concerts will be a textbook example of how intimate gigs are implemented, and end up somewhere in the borderland between concert and poignant call. One bright spot in an otherwise tired and gloomy month.

Lloyd Cole can be seen Monday 6 mars at Södra Teatern, Stockholm.
