Lidingöloppet MTB and Bicycling in new cooperation

By on March 28, 2018

One of Sweden’s largest MTB race, the Lidingöloppet MTB, is launching a collaboration with the cycling magazine Bicycling, which enters as the Official Media Partner for the race.

– Lidingöloppet MTB has soon established itself as a mountain bike event to count on. The cooperation with Bicycling allows us to continue spreading and developing the race, says Tomas Hoszek.

The cooperation extends over 2018 and will involve broader coverage of Lidingöloppet MTB before and after the race. Among other things, the participants will be inspired by two people who will blog about their upload to Lidingöloppet MTB. In the spring, Bicycling will also offer purchase of subscription in conjunction with notification to the race.

Lidingöloppet MTB will be launched on 5th May 2018 and it is then the sixth time the race, which is Stockholm’s largest MTB race, is arranged. The evolution of the race has steadily moved forward, attracting everything from the Swede elite to new ones in the world of cycling to the various distances. Lidingöloppet MTB is also seeding race to Cykelvasan.

– MTB is one of the strongest growing sports right now and then it feels fun and natural to enter as a partner for such a big and growing race as Lidingöloppet MTB, says Daniel Breece at Bicycling. I think it will be a nice symbiosis where we can spread information and inspiration together so that cyclists get the best possible experience on the track.

– Bicycling is your “one stop shop” for everything that concerns a bike and we have a wide appropriation with a focus on cycling as a lifestyle. We offer everything from stuff and cycling tests to training programs, destinations and people. But also impact in politics and the increasingly important issues surrounding infrastructure. All in a nice and inspiring package with a lot of feeling.

Lidingöloppet MTB: The race is a 63 km long mountain bike race with start and finish at Lidingövallen on Lidingö. The race is open to anyone over the age of 16 and has both a gym and a competition class. There is also a 23 km long course with full speed and lovely challenge, that stretch is also a competition class for young people up to 18 years. There are also distances for the younger ones, called Lilla Lidingöloppet MTB. The race is for children between 6-11 years.
