Legendariska soul- och gospelstjärnan Mavis Staples till Sverige!

By on February 25, 2018

Legendary soul and gospel artist Mavis Staples is 78 years old and up to date with the new album “If All I Was Was Black” released last autumn and a new tour that finally takes her to Sweden for a concert at KB in Malmö on July 16 and at Pustervik in Gothenburg on July 17th.

Tickets for these exclusive concerts are released.

With a career that began in the 1950s in the family band The Staples Singers, Mavis Staples is one of the biggest – known for both her incredible voice and her commitment to the US civil rights movement. The new album “If All I Was Was Black” has received brilliant reviews and is the third album where she collaborates with Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy. Tweedy has written all the songs on the new album and below are some of the praise comments:

“At 78, Staples has never sounded more contemporary.” – Associated Press

“Staples’s voice has a strength and endurance not heard in years.” – The New Yorker

“’If All I Was Was Black’ is an album about American perspectives and the compassion it takes to see the world from someone else’s point of view.” – Pitchfork

It is a great honor to greet no less than Mavis Staples to Sweden for concerts both in Malmö and Gothenburg. We will remember these concerts for a long time – be so sure. See you!
