Large exhibition with Bo Mossberg

The artist Bo Mossberg (born 1935) is one of Sweden’s largest art illustrators of plants, fungi, orchids and bumblebees. He has an extensive production of mainly watercolors with botanical motifs and landscapes but also buildings and people. He is known as an illustrator of numerous books as Den Nya Nordiska Floran, Mushrooms in Sweden, Bumblebees in Sweden and children’s books about the ant Sofi, the latest is Sofis Naturbok from 2016th.

Bo Mossberg is also a graphic designer and has designed most of the books.

He has received a number of awards. Bumble bees in Sweden was, for example, named as one of the 2012 most beautiful books of the Swedish Book Art and in 2000 he was awarded “The Jill Smythies Award” by The Linnean Society of London. In the book, Bo Mossberg, a picture biography, published in 2015, tells the artist, in words and pictures, of his life work right from the 1940s in various disciplines. Mossberg has also worked as a jazz musician and toured Europe with his clarinet.

The exhibition at Väsby Konsthall with vernissage on January 14, at 12-16, is a retrospective exhibition with watercolors, drawings, basic layouts book pages in progress and finished books.

On the opening day there will be music by Swing Art Trio with guest appearance by the artist himself.

Saturday, January 21 sends Naturmorgon, Swedish Radio P1, an element of, and with, Mossberg and his exhibition.
