Kulturhuset Stadsteatern moves out and opens a new all-art house in miniature at Sergels torg

Kulturhuset Stadsteatern opens an all-art house in miniature in the round building at Sergels torg: Under the fountain. It will be Kulturhuset Stadsteatern’s central hub during the renovation period 2019 and half 2020.

– When we have now moved out of our big house, we are so glad that there is still a place at Sergel’s square, in an all-art house, albeit in smaller format. It feels quite right to be left right here because our heart will always beat for this amazing square, in the middle of Stockholm! And the audience expects to find us here, says Sture Carlsson, CEO of Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.

– I want more people to take part in more culture. That is why I am so pleased that the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern is now moving to more than ten places around Stockholm, and continues to have a strong presence at Sergels torg in this innovative way, says Jonas Naddebo (C), Culture and Urban Environment Citizen Council.

Below the fountain consists of two floors with several of Kulturhuset Stadsteatern’s popular and appreciated activities in place. Upstairs: a visitor center with information counter and ticket office and a brand new intimate scene where the audience is seated at the table. On the stage, there will be Soppteater, Forum/Debate’s series of talks, International writer scene and the new music venture The Fountain, and more. Downstairs: Cultural Library, Serieteket and Lava.
