Kevin Morby to Sweden for two gigs!

By on May 29, 2017

November 7 – Debaser Strand, Stockholm
November 9 – Mejeriet, Lund

The now L.A.-based singer/songwriter Kevin Morby has established himself as an artist and songwriter in recent years. After being involved in both Woods and The Babies earlier, Morby tested four years ago the wings on his own and created the acclaimed solo album “Harlem River”. Since then, we have gotten two album full-packed with high-quality and retro-influenced indie-colleges, and in June comes one more  in the form of “City Music” – his perhaps most ambitious album so far. Now it is clear that we also have two Morbyan gigs to look forward to this fall – November 7, Kevin Morby is at Debaser Strands stage in Stockholm, and on November 9 he plays at Mejeriet in Lund.

Kevin Morby has visited Sweden many times before, and every time he returns, it feels like he has refined his song treasure further. His latest album “Singing Saw” was named Best New Music by Pitchfork, and of the singles he has hitherto shared to judge by, it smells successful even though of the new material. He has described it as a mixtape, a fever dream and a love letter dedicated to all cities that never leave the mind. Like the cities that never leave Kevin, “City Music” will most likely get stuck and never leave the listener’s mind – Kevin Morby’s music usually has that effect on people.
