Nr. 502. Carl-Fredrik Hill. "Röda falaiser" / "Les falaises".

A successful auction season has now reached Important Spring Sale, which opens the doors when the summer is as most beautiful. Bukowskis is pleased to announce a particularly stimulating collection of painting, sculpture and graphics where international elder champion Giovanni Paolo Panini interacts with modern and contemporary Déo like Auguste Rodin, Aristide Maillol, Roy Lichtenstein and Richard H. Pettibone.

To the highlights of the classic Swedish painting, Carl Fredrik Hills’s colouristically vibrant summer image includes “RödFalasis” which adorns the catalog cover and, of course, Anders Zorn’s masterpiece of the aquarium Fish Market in St. Petersburg. Ives, called “one of the artist’s very best watercolors”.

The latter work is part of Hans Erik Börjeson’s collection, whose range extends from Ivar Arosenius and Axel Fridell, further over Carl Larsson and John Bauer to modern element such as Carl Kylberg and Pablo Picasso.

In addition to this, the sparkling watercolors of Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors’s outstanding depictions of wildlife in Swedish nature, midsummer flowers of Olle Hjortzberg, midnight sun at Nordkap by Anders Zorn, bathing children in the archipelago were immortalized by Eugene Jansson and much, much more.

The content of the furniture department is as varied as the many fashion trends in history. Rokokon’s beautiful forms dominate the season’s agencies, today as trendy in decor as 250 years ago. All the great Rococo champions are represented with fine items. But no season without George Haupt’s wonderful craftsmanship, this time in a strictly designed bureau.

Further highlights come from the Asian Department, where we find a magnificent blue dice bowl from the Yongzheng period, a larger spherical vase from the Qianlong period, and a masterpiece of Xu Beihong (1895-1953), representing three horses.
