ICELANDIC SÓLSTAFIR TO SWEDEN

By on July 1, 2017

The “Volcano” is not the only one from Iceland that has taken the world by storm. The metal band Sólstafir has performed at festivals like Roskilde, Wacken Open Air and toured around the world – where Sweden has been a natural stop. Here the band is huge and have you seen the Icelandic people live then you understand why. Current with the new album “Berdreyminn” comes the band to Debaser Strand on December 20th! Support is no less than Danish Myrkur!

We have all heard about Icelandic tales. We have also heard about the musical success stories the little island country has written – not least Björk and Sigur Rós. Even Sólstafir seems, like the aforementioned artists, unstoppable. They harvest successes in the form of tribute, praise from critics, gigs at the world’s largest festivals, and a fan base that is faithful and follows the Icelanders at every musical path they step up.

The last album is a new chapter in the Icelandic success story. “Berdreyminn” was released other week, and Gaffa summarizes the new disc (with the grade 5/6) in an excellent way: “Anxious, mysterious, crazy beautiful”. NWT gave the disk 4/5 and they also described it well: “Yes this is a beautiful creation. Folk shoegaze-rock at its best.”

Critics love them. The fans love them. We love them! A band that for over 20 years has created a meeting place for the beautiful – and the dark. A force that can not be ignored – and a fresh Icelandic breath of air in the rock and metal world.

We are now looking forward to December and a Christmas gift in the form of amazing Sólstafir live at Debaser Strand on December 20! Support for the evening is no less than Danish Myrkur!
