By on December 29, 2017

Every year, Stockholmers forget lots of objects in public transport. Cash and other items are collected and the total value is given to Stockholms Stadsmission collection for the homeless in Stockholm. In connection with Christmas holidays, more than 140,000 SEK of forgotten cash is now added.

In total, the value of forgotten cash in 2016 and 2017 that is given to Stockholms Stadsmission comes up to 140 937.21 kr. Even earlier in 2017, Stockholms Stadsmission has received a total of 303,000 SEK from the sale of lost goods that have not been collected and with the addition of rewarded Christmas gifts from MTR’s employees.

Including the sum of the year, Stockholms Stadsmission has received accumulated funds from Stockholm’s forgotten lost property and recalled Christmas gifts from its staff of approximately SEK 925,000 since 2011. The funds are earmarked and will be written to their collection for people in homelessness.

MTR is responsible for SL’s freight department for entire public transport. Items that are not retrieved but which have other value, such as mobile phones and computers, are sold and collected together with forgotten cash.
