“High on You” – new dreamy single from State of Sound

By on November 7, 2017

With its mix of Swedish melancholy, escapism, pastel-colored sunsets and tropical soundscapes, State of Sound has made success with singles like “Higher Love” (with Gustaf Norén), “Wake Up Where You Are” and the last tropical house covern of Bryan Adam’s classic “heaven”. Since the debut less than two years ago, the songs have streamed over 100 million times on Spotify.

Last Friday they released the single “High on You” and an EP with the same name will be released on November 17th.

“High on You” is about when love hits you so strongly that it physically takes over your life. Like it comes from another world and the life you live otherwise is temporary, full of shortcomings and cracks. And that nothing but that love will ever matter and you’re willing to leave everything you’ve got behind you for just a second in that world.”

State of Sound, consisting of Viktor Norén and Joakim Andrén, met at a tequila party in Stockholm in 2010 and became friends directly. With Viktor’s background in bands like Sugarplum Fairy and Viktor & The Blood as well as own solo adventures mixed with Joakim’s past as tour musician and songwriter, there was a musical match made in heaven. In addition to the single and EP’s “High On You” they are also current to have producing Eric Saade’s songs for this year’s round of Så Mycket Bättre.
