Mons Kallentoft and Markus Lutteman released their fourth joint book yesterday. Heroine is the new part of Herkulesserien, which is famous for its high level of actuality. In this scary realistic thriller, the suburb has become the isolated war zone we fear.

Heroine takes place in a fictional Stockholm suburb which been taken over by criminal gangs. When a police car is blown up in the air, all callouts are stopped. Then a movie is spread in social media. A young woman is violated and left to die. The public is screaming for revenge and the police have no choice but to enter the suburb.

The critically acclaimed Herkulesserien has had a great impact both in Sweden and internationally.

“Expectations on the fourth part are of course high,” explains publishing director Claes Ericson. “But I do not think readers will be disappointed. It is constantly exciting during the day it takes place.”

The series is based freely on the ancient stories of the half god Herkules. When the myth of Augea’s stables transform into ultramodern big city thriller, it becomes magnificent rough- and hair-raising.

Mons Kallentoft’s crime novels have been translated into more than 30 languages and sold in nearly 3 million copies. Markus Lutteman has written the biographies about El Choco and Patrik Sjöberg.
