By on December 23, 2016

Hellsten Hotel opens its fifth hotel in Stockholm on Wollmar Yxkullsgatan under the name Hellsten’s Glass House. The hotel takes place behind the glass facade which is distinctive in the neighborhood a few steps from Mariatorget. Like other hotels in the group are Hellstens Glass House located in a historic building with tradition.

Hellsten’s Glass House has an exciting design with strong colors and contrasts where the warehouse-esteem meets antique details. The hotel has forty rooms of various shapes and sizes as well as a few smaller conference rooms. At the beginning of 2017, the hotel opens also a restaurant and bar.

The building was an old metal foundry built in brick. This has been combined with a new building and a provocative glass facade facing the street. The rooms have been decorated in the tradition of the other Hellsten hotels. Every guest will be surprised and inspired by the hotel’s atmosphere and interior design, says Per Hellsten, owner.

With the name Hellstens Glass House they relating to the history and theater activities that housed in the building on the 80s and 90s. When the Foundry ceased moved a garage in and then a glazier, hence the name. A benevolent patron helped the dance group Vindhäxor to rebuild the house to the dance hall that over fifteen years became a focus of modern dance culture in Stockholm.

Our live scene in the bar should build on the tradition and become a natural meeting place, especially for music, says Per Hellsten.
