Fotografiska’s restaurant is the second best in the world

Fotografiska has the second best museum restaurant in the world. This was declared when Leading Culture Destinations announced the Museum Restaurant of the Year 2016 award on 30 September.
In competition with Ammo Restaurant at the Hammer, Los Angeles and Loulou Restaurant, Musée des arts Decoratifs, Paris (who won) , Fotografiska’s restaurant received second prize in the Leading Culture Destinations Awards 2016, in the category Museum Restaurant of the Year.
Fotografiska’s restaurant is the second best museum restaurant in the world.
At the awards ceremony in London, a proud Jan Broman, Fotografiska’s CEO and co-founder (with his brother Per Broman), sent a greeting to Fotografiska’s food creator Paul Svensson and his restaurant team.
“A big thank you to Paul and his marvellous team who deliver at the highest level each and every day, which has enabled our guests and the distinguished jury for the LCD Awards to experience that not only is our restaurant world class but the second best in the world.”
The LCD Awards celebrate the vibrancy and vitality of museums around the world, which are changing rapidly. The short list is drawn up from the nominations of more than 80 Ambassadors, the recommendations of the world’s leading cultural planning consultancy Lord Cultural Resources and the choices of a Select Jury. The jury then casts its final vote to declare the winner in each category. Last year Fotografiska’s restaurant received a nomination and this year it was awarded second prize.
The main reason of the competition is to highlight the fact that today’s attractive museums are much more than administrators of cultural content; they are forces that are driving the cultural development in society. They are hubs for that which makes life worth living: a sense of community, personal development and sense-expanding experiences. Because something happens when you encounter art – you encounter your fellow beings and you encounter yourself. And something happens when you enjoy food that has been prepared based on a philosophy using products that do not deplete the earth but enrich it.
”We are devoted to developing the most inclusive and sustainable restaurant and museum in the world, and always intent on providing satisfaction and surprises for our guests. Pleasure by health is our goal and we constantly experiments with new ways of serving up experiences that expand and enrich our guests’ tastes as well as thoughts,” Paul Svensson explains.
Leading Culture Destinations describes itself as a culture travel channel for the next generation of travellers who regard arts and culture as a key part of their lifestyle. This is a target group that, since the very beginning, has had as a second home at Fotografiska.
“Our vision is to inspire a more conscious world and this award is an honourable recognition of the fact that Fotografiska contributes inspiration for a more sustainable and conscious world,” Jan Broman concludes.
