Försökskaninerna concludes Marie-Louise Ekman’s trilogy

Marie-Louise Ekman returning to Royal Dramatic Theater with a new play. In Försökskaninerna moves the mother, again played by Marie Göranzon, into a dementia residents. First performance on 30 March.

Försökskaninerna are the last independent part of a trilogy in which Marie-Louise Ekman treats the mother’s old age. The play describes the mother’s moving in on a dementia residents: what happens in the real room or what takes place inside the mother’s head – like a dream play.

The mother is played by Marie Göranzon, who played the same role in the two previous dramas. Participates in the other roles do Örjan Ramberg, Kristina Törnqvist, Rolf Skoglund, Ellen Jelinek and Julia Dufvenius.

Gäckanden, the first part of the trilogy described the hidden life in the own apartment with visits by unknown forces. Dödspatrullen, the second part, talked about the mother’s moving to a retirement home, and her attempts to retain her original powers.

New written music by Benny Andersson.

Marie-Louise Ekman is an artist, playwright and director. She was theater director at the Royal Dramatic Theatre between 2009 and 2015.
