Högberga Gårds Tommy Eriksson to Olympics
Högberga Gårds gastronomic leader Tommy Eriksson has got a place in Stockholm Culinary Team and will compete in the Olympic Games in cooking in the fall.
2016 is the year of the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but it is also the year of the Olympics in cooking. The latter championship takes place in Erfurt in Germany in October. Sweden is represented by the national team, junior and Regional Law of which is Stockholm Culinary Team where Tommy Eriksson, Högberga Gårds, are included.
– We are 12 people in the team of which I am the last that qualify me. I have five months to get me in shape, which is a really tough and exciting challenge, he says.
Competition rounds, a variety of dishes, are distributed among team members. Tommy Eriksson’s task will be to prepare finger food, two cold and two hot, seven of each, each one should weigh between 10 and 20 grams. All contest dishes will be judged on performance and appearance. The jury will not taste the food.
– But even if they do not taste it, we see in the team that it is very important that there is good stuff for real, not just fancy contest dishes, says Tommy Eriksson.
20s international teams compete against each other, each team has 100 points from the beginning that they then risk deduction from the jury believes that they succeeded less well with some moments. Most remaining points after the jury wins. Stockholm Culinary Team is the only Regional Law that previously won both the World Championship and Olympic gold.
