Fatburs park’s pop up park opened

By on June 15, 2017

Last Tuesday, Fatbursparken opened a pop-up park that the city of Stockholm created in a former workplace for Citybanan.

Fatbursparken’s temporary pop-up park is a collaboration between the traffic office, the exploitation office and Södermalm’s district administration. The park is located north of the pedestrian area in Fatbursparken and will be in place during the summer season 2017 and 2018. It is part of Stockholm’s city venture for more comfortable living environments and increased city life. This year, there are more summer pedestrian areas, summer squares and pop up parks than ever before – both in the inner city and in the outer city.

Among the park’s plants and furniture there is a general barbecue, surfaces for food trucks, ping pong table and changing library. The park is manned by summer-working schoolchildren between 12 June and 11 August. When the park is manned, it is possible to borrow company games such as kubb and garden yatzy.
