The composer, organizer and trumpeter Ann-Sofi Söderqvist comes to Vitabergsparken with its big band ASJO – Ann-Sofi Söderqvist Jazz Orchestra, which was formed in 2010. The band consists of 19 of Sweden’s absolute premier jazz musician, and the conductor Ann-Sofi herself is a composer who got more attention, not just in jazz circles. She is diligently engaged as a composer and organizer in various contexts.

In Vitabergsparken, ASJO will play music from the latest, Grammisnominated, record Move – Live at Fasching & Bangen, as well as material from previous plates and newly written pieces.

“It’s particularly well-arranged music, which balances the familiar sound of a big band with originality and Söderqvist’s great fingertips for their fellow musicians.” DN

August 26 at 19.30 – free entrance

Since the Grammis-winning debut, Oddjob has distinguished themself as one of Sweden’s bravest jazz bands, daring to interpret everything from soundtracks to some of Clint Eastwood’s biggest movies, to Swedish folk and coal tradition, and on the latest disc, the Weather Report is interpreted. All in all, they have released nine albums, of which three were rewarded with Grammis.

Oddjob offers swinging, their music is constantly renewing, and their music is always Oddjobsk; exciting, innovative, super swinging with telepathic interaction beyond the usual.
