Farang is with and helps quake-hit Nepal.

By on December 3, 2016

In April 2015 Nepal was hit by an earthquake measured at 7.8 on the Richter scale. It is the most powerful earthquake in Nepal since 1934 and many buildings and roads collapsed. Around 9000 people died and many more injured and became homeless. Now more than a year and a half after the earthquake, there is still plenty left to rebuild.

Consious Impact is a nonprofit organization that works to help people in the affected village Takure in Sindhupalchowk province. The village lies near the epicenter of the earthquake and all the 256 buildings in the village were destroyed.

Conscious Impact is working with local people to build schools and other buildings in the village. Soil, sand and a little cement mixed and compressed in a manual press for bricks used to build with.

This video from Jonathan H. Lee at Conscious Impact shows the extent of their work:Conscious Impact

The population of Takure and Conscious Impact work hard and with great energy, but they are dependent on grants to continue their work. We at Farang would be more than happy to help. Last spring we had a drink on our menu, which we donated 20 SEK per sold drink to Conscious Impact.
We continue, of course, to contribute to their amazing work through donations.

Allen Gula, Orion Haas and Juliette Maas who started Conscious Impact continues with volunteers working to help build up Takure. They need, however, all the help they can get.

If you wish to make a contribution, it is possible här. If you wish to make a contribution, it is possible here. The donations will go directly to produce bricks, $ 1 gives two bricks.

If you feel you want to go to Nepal and help would be great! Any help will be gratefully received. For more information about volunteering can be found här.
