Esther Vallee on killing spree in the new video to “Numbers”

By on November 13, 2017

Esther Vallee is predicted by tastemakers such as Clash Magazine and Popjustice to become one of the most important names in 2018. Her charming and suggestive girl next door aura along with a touching dark side adds something new to the pop genre.

Last Thursday premier showed BON the music video to Esther’s single “Numbers”, which is the first in the line of soundtrack to be released from this talent. Behind the video is New York based production company Good Company who previously worked with among other Adele, Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar. The music video was recorded during 24 intense hours, at a motel three hours outside of New York.

Esther Vallee tells: “We wanted to create a different, unique story with Numbers. And do something that nobody expects me to do. The action is very dark but with a pinch humor and inspiration comes from ‘Kill Bill’, with a femme fatale touch. I want to showcase the different secrets we possess and touch the real truth about dark inner thoughts that one does not want to disclose because of shame. In the video, I’m like a devilish voice in the lives of different people who say that “your secret will be safe with me …” I help them mask their “forbidden” dreams by taking their lives.”

Written by Esther Vallee and JB. Produced by Jonas Quant (Hurts, Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani) and mixed by Matty Green (Frank Ocean, TV On The Radio, The Weeknd). Mastred at The Lodge by Emily Lazar (SIA, Foo Fighters, David Bowie).
