As part of Capitol’s summer movie series, we show John Carpenters Escape from New York.

At a time when crime raged, the whole of Manhattan has been converted into a prison for the world’s most brutal criminals.

And when the US president (Donald Pleasence) crashes into the area, only one man can get him out again: Snake Plissken (Kurt Russel), a notorious outlaw, former war hero.

Against a pledge of full pardon he goes down into the dilapidated city and sets off a fiery war against the hostages.

But it’s in a hurry; after 24 hours a bomb bursts inside Snake Plisskens body that ends up both the mission and his life – if he does not succeed.

The film is shown in 4K without Swedish text.

The film is screened Thursday 4 July 2019 at Bio & Bistro Capitol Stockholm.
