BÄA

naked, bare, empty, simple, open, peeled, bar

In the exhibition BÄA, Erika shows objects influenced by body and existential thoughts.

I read about matter, the physical elements the universe is made up of. It is called aggregation state. In our everyday life, solid, liquid and gas are the most common. I read it as an aggression state and thought it was so uncomfortable comic how it all created from anger. Here I realize my reading error but continue to analyze this with creativity/anger and results have become moods illustrated in glass.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I blow just for fun
is with ink and needle tattooed on my finger.

BLACK INK: SKIN

My work often borders between a clear function and abstract sculpture. I can control hot glass but sometimes choose to refrain.

TRANSPARENT

My heart thrives for nature, but I’m inspired by the city, tall chimneys that pump out white clouds, black ink stains and dust.

THE SKY FASCINATES ME: THE SEA SCREENS ME

I like calloused hands with traces of hard work and knowledge.

NAILS: PAINTED RED

I am proud of my knowledge. But I would like to combine other material with glass or work with the material in a theoretical way.

HUMOR: LOGIC

I blow just for fun
