This year, it was a hundred years since the demon director Ingmar Bergman was born, something that Dramaten, his home stage, pays attention to. One big news is that one of the international guest playes is placed at Alby. The reason is spelled Hangaren Subtopia, which has been chosen as the optimal place for a set of special effects and visual surprises. The performances take place August 31 and September 1st.

It is Dutch director Ivo van Hove who sets up two consecutive short playes. Partly a version of classic Persona (1966) and partly Efter repetitionen (1984). In the former one, an actress loses speech ability. It becomes short-circuiting when she is going to balance the acting role with her situation as a new mom. The second short play is about a director who begins to mix up his career with his real life. Slowly, the insight is revealed that life can not be controlled as a play.

– Hangaren Subtopia is a bit of a well-kept secret. Those who know us know what incredible opportunities exist and how well the relationship between stage and audience works. The fact that Dramaten comes to Alby is of course sensationally fun, says Kerstin Fagervall, coordinator of Subtopia.
