Clarion Hotel Stockholm collects bikes

By on April 29, 2017

Clarion Hotel Stockholm is organizing a bicycle collection on May 7, inviting Stockholmers and Södermalmsbor to clean the stocks and donate their bikes. The bikes will be freshened up and donated to the new neighbors on the through-residencein Vintertullen. On Vintertullen, more than 500 people moved in 2016 after having obtained a residence permit in Sweden.

The hotel urges to discover Stockholm from the bicycle saddle and collaborate with Cykelfrämjandet, which is in place during the gathering day, and discusses bicycle rules, traffic sense and informs about their bicycle training.

The collection will take place at the hotel at Ringvägen 98 on May 7th between kl. 11.00 – 15.00. The hotel receives “full and clean” bikes but will refresh them (using bicycle repairers) with easier fixes such as pumping tires and grease the chains and brakes. Everyone who leaves their bicycle is invited to have a coffee and a feeling of doing well. The hotel will then contact those who have shown interest in a bike beforehand.

– We want to help our new neighbors on Vintertullen in a variety of ways. In our contacts with residents at Vintertullen and organizations in Södermalm, we have understood that only bikes are something that is demanded. We also see how many Stockholmers stocks are overflowing with bikes and hope that this will be a win-win situation, said Victor Triantafillidis, General Manager at Clarion Hotel Stockholm.

Clarion Hotel Stockholm has previously arranged the collection of Christmas presents under “Ensam julgran söker klappar”. In January, a family day was organized for all families living on Vintertullen. The event was organized in cooperation with Söderandan.
