Clarion Hotel Sign helps exposed families in Stockholm to have a nice Christmas

Nordic Choice Hotels Christmas Gift Campaign “Lonely Christmas Tree seeks gift” was performed for the first time in 2012 and since then, the hotels have collected over 300,000 Christmas presents, which contributed to a merry Christmas to many children and young people. Everyone can contribute by leaving a gift under the Christmas tree in the lobby at Clarion Hotel Sign. As in previous years all gifts are donated to the Young Station.

– Christmas is about love and fellowship, but not everyone looking forward to Christmas. We have been working with Young Station for many years, helping families in Stockholm who live on minimal economic income. Being able to participate and create the opportunity to celebrate traditions but also carry out activities such as summer camp during the rest of the year feels fantastic, says Henrik Berghult, CEO of Clarion Hotel Sign.

Traditionally, the Clarion Sign started the campaign the first advent with the “This year’s finest Christmas party”, which became a success. Friends, guests and customers visited the hotel where it was offered Christmas food, pyssel and balloon show. The event was free but the hotel invited all visitors to bring a gift card or a Christmas gift which then goes unabridged to the Young Station in Stockholm and its Christmas celebrations on December 24th.

– We at Young Station are very pleased with the cooperation with Clarion Hotel Sign. The support for families with children means extra much like this at Christmas. With the help of the hotel, we can help more families to have a nice Christmas which warms when the needs are so big, says Erica Sandin, Operations Manager, Young Station, Stockholm City Mission.

Join and help more children and young people celebrate a merry Christmas by submitting your Christmas gift or gift certificate to Clarion Hotel Sign by 19 December. Mark the Christmas gift of the appropriate age as well as the gift card with value for easier handling. For each Christmas gift or gift card collected, Nordic Choice Hotels donates 10 SEK to UNICEF and their work to protect children exposed to trafficking in human beings.
